Shirt/Player Pulling

Every year, FIFA players like you and me ask for the game to be more realistic, so because of this, EA have introduce shirt pulling in FIFA 13.

Push Pull

Personally, I think it’s pretty cool, I mean it can be annoying as hell at times, but can also help you out a lot if you’re chasing a player. I think the balance of how much you concede free kicks to how much you get away with it is quite good, a lot of people might disagree though. You see it in real life, players “jostling” with more than their shoulder and they get away with it sometimes, and concede free kicks at other times.

So how do you do it?

It’s really simple and also really effective at slowing your opponent down and (sometimes) winning the ball back.

To perform this move, simply press B / O when nearing an opponent. Be sure not to tap it otherwise your player will then try to stick out their leg to tackle your opponent, which will completely slow down your player and let your opponent run away.

The good thing about this move, is that even rapid players can be slowed down just by using this. Most of the time, fast players are weak so this simple push / pull move is really effective, especially when using strong defenders.

It’s also quite effective if you’re slightly behind a player. Instead of sliding them out of rage, simply use this little trick to slow them right down. So what if you give a free kick? If you’re stopping a rapid player getting away from you, then sweet!

This is also a great help if your opponent is just about to shoot or cross, it can seriously put them off balance and force them to cock up their shot/cross completely – Awesome! 😀
